today i am...

Grateful.
Tis the season right? I guess with Thanksgiving being over and done with, it has really given me an opportunity to reflect on life's greatest treasures. Lately I have felt an overwhelming gratitude for my little guy and husband B. Possibly because its that time of year. I feel so lucky for the opportunity to care for this little person. I look at him everyday and can't understand where or how this amazing amount of love came from. I love to watch everything he does. I love his face before he is about to cry. The way his bottom lip curls under and how gravity is pulling at the corners of his mouth. I love how peaceful he sleeps. In fact, just yesterday I got him out of his car seat after a long day with family and friends, and he was sound asleep... snoring in fact. I took him into my bed room and totally undressed him, changed his diaper and dressed him in his mickey PJ's, all while being serenaded by his sweet SNORE. I love every morning at about 6 o'clock I hear his little whimper, ready for another day. I love pulling his sleepy body out of his crib and taking him back to bed and just laying with him. The whole time staring up at me probably wondering why I am so delirious. I wish I could take on every day like a child. I appreciate this new perspective. I think that with every passing day I am realizing more and more what is most important and gratifying, what truly makes me happy. I am grateful for that perspective.

A Haircut ALREADY!

The mohawk was my favorite
Lennon was rockin a pretty sweet mullet!
B in action

After his little man trim

Lennon has a birthmark on the back of his head!! Neither B or I have one. It comes from my side of the family. Becca has this exact birthmark on the back of her head and on her forehead. (Note: B's awesome "fade"! He was proud of that. It is short on the bottom and fades to longer on the top)

B really wanted to cut Lennons hair all one length. He has been bugging me forever to do it. I haven't really wanted to until he has rubbed the best bald spot on the back of his head, leaving him the dirtiest baby mullet I have ever seen! So Last night we decided to buzz it. It was kinda sad. We did the whole thing with a gaurd on it, but when we got to the mullet part it didn't really cut his hair. It was sort of in an akward place. So B decided to take the gaurd off and just graze the back (ya right, he kept reassuring me how he knew exactly what he was doing!). Well, didn't really work out that great. Lennon's head was bobbing the whole time and unfortunately bobbed right into the buzzer, leaving him the sweetest step on one side. After that, I just told B to buzz the whole thing. And folks that is what he did. He left the top a little longer and faded the rest. Lennon looks like a mini marine! I can't stop laughing when I see it. It is so funny. He is so stinkin cute.

little taste of pregnancy...

lennon loves this thing!
The other night B wanted me to sew a bunch of clothes for him. I had no problem doing it but it was one of those days where the baby just wanted to be held. B was cleaning and I told him he was going to have to hold the baby while I was sewing cause he wasn't just going to sit. I didn't want him to stop cleaning, cause our house desperately needed it and I was pretty much over cleaning for the day, so I had a wonderful idea! I grabbed the Baby Bjorn! I think B thought I was kidding until I strapped him in! I was laughing pretty hard. I just told him to try it out. A little taste of what it was like to be pregnant (i said LITTLE). I couldn't not take pictures. I walked into my bedroom to see how they were and here is what I found (above). B wiping down the dressers with Lennon just chillin. It pretty much made my day and deserves to be documented!

Finishing The Basement

B doing man stuff
b and chris acting like they know what they are doing
We are finally able to start working on our basement. B and Chris have been workin hard on finishing our basement. I can't even wait to have it done. Here are some pictures of the action!

sweet sweet memory lane...

I thought I would just give this a try... why not! (it might get interesting)

Do you remember when?

Here are the rules.
1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If we're only blogging friends or if you're a blog hopper who happens upon my blog regularly...leave me a comment. There must be reason you keep stopping by! Say something! If you don't have a blog or don't know how to sign in, sign up for an account! You won't regret it!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog (if you have one) and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty fun to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you... either on your blog, in my comment box, or I will email you back!

r.o.b.o.t.

my little creation.
I thought I would make a little onesie for Lennon today. By the time I got done, he was asleep so I couldn't have him model it. I want to start making him more clothes. I love it. This is my first. Kinda shotty but I like it... maybe cause it is far from perfect and sometimes the coolest creations are mistakes. Whattaya think?

O.B.A.M.A.

Can you even believe it!! I can't. I wasn't to amped on either candidate ( but wasn't really leaning towards Obama. Why didn't Romney win??) and am very interested to see what our world is going to be like now. I don't think it will be much different... call me ignorant, but I didn't notice much of a change from Clinton to Bush, except for planes flying through the Trade centers (kinda changed the whole world right there... sheesh). Although I am a bit nervous.  Guess I'll start on my food storage!! Maybe because I am older I am more interested in this election. It seems like the older you get the more stuff like this effects you. I don't know? Anyway, cheers to four more years! It will be interesting to see where this takes us!
(azy, thanks for the pic, its great!... actually carly, thanks for the pic ;)

welcome S.N.O.W.

Lennon dressed up for the wonderful snow... pretty funny

He was so warm it knocked him right out... so nice!
Looks like old man WINTER gave us all a visit... and I like it!

My little HoT DOG! He hates it!

I could tell B was tempted to take a bite at any moment... he really is a sucker for hot dogs

Grandma Hofheins making him laugh... so cute

Auntie Jamie!
I couldn't get Logan to sit still... strange right :)
Left to right: Logan, Lennon, Brecklyn, and Tyson... All of these kids are Jake and Jamies. So cute.

Well folks HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! B and I didn't do much on Halloween this year, but I still had to dress Lennon up. My sister-in-law Shantell, let me borrow this costume and I had to show everyone! It was hilarious! (thanks shan!) Halloween is probably going to be a lot better now that I have a child of my own. First, we went to my parents house for some homemade chicken noodle soup...mmmm sounds good huh? And of course had to show our little guy off. After that we headed down to Maggie and Josephs house to say hi and also to see our lovely friends Bule and Brad. It was so great to hang out with all of them. I haven't had that good of laughs in a long time! After that we went over to Bobert and Doddies and showed them their cute little hot dog grandson. Lennon loves his grandmas. That is about all we did... Lennon was tired and sick of people laughing at him, so home we went. All in all it was a good Halloween.
