rylee.jo.olmstead

I am a proud little auntie today. Farrah had her baby yesterday. I was with her all day and it was so great. I was so lucky to be able to be apart of them bringing that sweet angel into this world. There is nothing like childbirth. Really.

Farrah did such a great job. She honestly didn't even push. I was shocked. Shawn was so stoked to see his little daughter. I think watching his reaction made me loose it. He was so sweet and proud of both his wife and new little daughter.

Rylee was absolutely perfect. She looks just like her sister Raegan. I was lucky enough to be the photographer and the cord to the camera isn't at my house. As soon as I get it I will be happy to post pictures of that little angel.

Shawn, Farrah, Rae and Evy

...

Congratulations!

***post post.... her name isn't Rylee. I am an idiot. It's Mayci Jo! Farrah even told me that was what it was and I sure did write Rylee! ha ha ha. That is funny. I am not deleting this post cause it is hilarious.

{mom, I told you I was losing my mind}

post, post, post...little Mayci jo.

more pictures to come.

isn't she great?!

comic

Just a quick funny story....
Yesterday I was visiting this boutique that I am selling my clothes in. It is like a charity type thing. They are trying to raise money for a little boy who is sick. There was a photographer there selling quick sessions for 20 bucks, so I thought, "I'll get pictures of Lennon!" So he sat in the chair all ready to go. He had a little audience and was loving it.
He loves attention.
Because he loves attention so much, he started whacking himself in the head and then looking around to see if it made people laugh.
Of course it did.
So of course he just continued on. This has been a new thing. He did the same thing at church last Sunday. He loves to entertain people already. Even though this is a strange way of doing so, I LOVE IT! The best are others reactions... first a little worried, then followed by a laugh.
He gets a thrill out of making people laugh already. Sounds kinda like his mom. Lets just hope he stays sweet. ;)

{Pictures will be posted shortly}

Halloween 2009

Joseph and Maggie invited us to their Halloween Party.

It was a blast!

This cracks me up.

Please don't mind me.

Before all our Halloween celebrations we got to go to the REAL Soccer playoffs.
It was a beautiful day and enjoyed by all.
We had a great Halloween.
Hope you all did too!

witch city

Grandma Dorothy, Shantell, and Angella invited Lennon and I to go with them to the famous
Gardner Village.
I haven't been there all that much, and surely haven't been there during Halloween. It was great. There were witches everywhere. Lennon didn't know what to think.
I think my favorite part was the pumpkin sugar cookie :)
Thanks Grandma!

outdoors.

Here is just a little snippet of Lennon in his element.
That kid loves the outdoors
(second to loving B of course).

o wait... don't mind HIS hairclip

cornbelly's

This year Lennon and I got to experience Cornbelly's not only once but TWICE! It was my first time going and it was awesome.
Lennon loved it and so did I.
...
Here are some pictures for your pleasure.

lennon, pyper, london and asher.

They had a blast!

Did I mention I laughed my head off seeing Lennon's massive noggin peering over that cart (or whatever you call it).

And of course he spotted a ball... he is a little obsessed.

becca, aspen, grandpa and raegan.

This was where you got to launch pumpkins out of a massive cannon.

Brought me back to my good ole' days. :)

Here is the rest of the crew.
Thanks Mamma Dorothy and Mom and Dad Hofheins.
Lennon and I loved it.
...
until next year cornbelly's.

my ever growing h.e.a.r.t.

today was much needed...

I got to go out with some of my favorite people... Farrah and Becca. It really was a pleasure being with you two. I loved every second of it.

But before this...

I was with Lennon. Just like everyday! But for some reason today was different. I just love that little man. My heart grew more today for my little Lennon, (i really didn't know that was possible) but I felt a physical growth in my chest.

I love him.

I was upstairs working on some clothing and Lennon was just minding his own business. I could hear him chatting up a storm all by himself. I turned around and across the room, behind the coffee table, he had his favorite blankie (thank you Suzie), draped over his head and playing underneath with toys. It was his own little fort. My heart grew... my oh my it grew.

Later today we were downstairs and I was throwing him the ball and he would run and get it and throw it right back. He thoroughly enjoys this. Well, I tossed him the ball and it rolled under the desk. He looked at me for the go ahead and of course he got it. So he crawled under the desk and grabbed the ball and went to stand up and ... BONK! He hit is 95th percentile (head) really hard. He looked at me kinda confused and a little sore. I just said, "It's okay... c'mon! Get the ball!!" so he sucked back all his tears and grabbed the ball. He was almost out from under the desk, and BONK again! This time it wasn't his whole head, just a portion, which is really painful. After this happened, he looked at me and his lip started quivering. He really didn't want to cry but it HURT! I could tell that one hurt. As his poor mouth was quivering I crawled over to him and with more sympathy and said, "Oh man, you okay?" and he let go. He started to cry along with vigorously rubbing the back of his head. My heart really did grow. I love him.

The other day I was on my phone. It was a very important phone call and Lennon could tell... that is why he was fussing the WHOLE TIME. I didn't know what to do. I tried everything. Last resort was me making tight-lip Arden mouth (i am being way too polite, we all really know what that is called;) and mouthing to Lennon to BE QUIET!

He laughed. He laughed hard.

Right in my face! I was dying. Carma. I think the last time someone was mad like that was my photo teacher in high school when I locked him in the darkroom door... he came out with blue veins in his neck and guess what? I laughed. In fact, i think I peed my pants. hmm. Carma?

Life is going to be interesting. That was my first dose of a little Rachie. Not sure what the future holds but I do know this.... I never thought I could ever love something as much as I love him.

It sure feels good.

Lennon's first skate....
He wasn't that interested...
maybe when he is ten.

blank stare

Lennon stayed like this for a good 5 minutes...
until he finally crashed.
He makes me laugh more and more as the days go by.

07.30.2009

Well Folks, I can't really believe it, but I officially have a ONE YEAR OLD.
It is really hard to believe that I have been a mom for a whole year already. I was talking to B and saying how it feels like last month when I had him.
I still feel so new at this.
One year ago my life was changed forever. No one could have ever prepared me for what was in store.
Friends and Family
Obviously on his birthday I just couldn't help thinking back to the day that I had him. It was nothing but a miracle. I am and was so amazed at how much I could instantly love one single person. Something changes when you have a kid. I remember thinking a few months after I had him... What did I ever live for before? It sounds crazy but it is true.
...
I love being able to revisit life again through a child's eyes. I was telling Farrah that the other day. I forget how great childhood really was until I get to see it again for myself, experience it all over again.

Lennon has been such a great blessing and will continue to be. I feel lucky to be his mom.

I really do.

I am glad I have a husband who feels the same way. Lennon is a total daddy's guy. He loves B. When he walks in the door from work, Lennon literally lunges out of my arms for B.

I love it.

Some of the things he can do at the age of one are...

Crawl

Climb

Says Dad and sometimes Ma Ma

Says Truck... He loves trucks already

Says Dog... loves dogs too

Says Uh-Oh

Loves Laughing... He will laugh until he has hiccups almost every time.

Stands on his own

Makes a car noise with his mouth when he is playing cars

Plays Hide-and-Go seek with B... he really does. He hides and waits for B to find him. Then screams.

Head Butts everyone and thinks it is the greatest

Loves the water

Doesn't love Milk... I hope that changes but I didn't love it either. Still don't.

Fake Laughs

Fake Coughs

Doesn't Cuddle unless he is tired

Loves the car

and... Continues to be the best of the best

...

Bule brought him this amazing Monster Cake. Thanks Larry.
I guess my point is, I love my little man. He is the greatest thing that has happened to me so far (aside from B :). I hope Lennon never forgets how much his parents love him.
I am lucky to have the chance to be his mom. I think this last year was honestly one of the best in my life and I owe it all to L man. I am excited for many more years to come.
Lennon buster... I love you.
**Keep on scrolling... I made another multiple post post. :)

Fun with three Kiddos!

Jamie has been out of town for a couple weeks and I have been able to watch their kids part of the time. Here are some photos to document what I have been up to this last week.

Grocery shopping with three kids is a little different than one. Thank goodness for those germ infested cars attatched to the cart.

Farrah told me about the greatest pool in Payson. It really is perfect for infants to adults, so I packed up the three kids and met Farrah down South for a good time at the pool. It was great. I am sure I will be visiting that again.

*Logan probably went down that green tube slide 500 times. It was great. He even talked Me and Lennon into doing it. I stinkin love that kid.

Thanksgiving Point Petting Zoo.

The kids loved it.

I didn't. :)

They all got Pony rides. That was probably the highlight. They loved it.

*Raegan looks like a natural. Shawn would be proud.

We ended the 103 degree weather day with a nice Ice Cream Cone from JCW's.
I liked that part... so did Lennon.

24th of July

For the 24th of July we got to spend the day up in American Fork Canyon. It was great. I love that canyon. It brings back so many good memories. Here are some pictures for your pleasure.

farewell

Our dearest friend Heather left us for the bigger better deal. San Diego, California. For her farewell party we all got together to bid our farewells. Once again, it was a treat. I really enjoy my friends. I am so glad we are all still in touch.

Bule, Heather, Mags, Yours truly along with Lennon

Don't worry about my face and Lennon's Sty eye. He later fell asleep like that.

c.r.e.a.t.i.o.n

So I have had a little time lately and I really wanted to make something for Lennons room. I never set up a "nursery" for him so I thought, now is the time to try something new in there. Here are just a few of the things I have made for his room. They turned out better than I thought. Enjoy.
I did the letters with the adds that come to my house. I just used Modge Podge to glue it on. With the canvas, it was on sale at Roberts, so I just bought it and painted that little number. If you can't tell, that is his birthday at the top. :)
Below is a sweatshirt I made for Chris and Azy's baby. I am going to start making a bunch of these with different designs. I thought this one was cute though. Let me know if you want one... I would love to make it.

Youth Conference 2009

B and I are both in the youth programs in our ward. B is the Scout Master, and I am the second counselor in the Young Womens. I know, pretty scarry that we are in charge of our youth. I still feel like I am a youth.
We got to go to Youth Conference together. It was actually really fun having B there. Lots of laughter. We went for three days and Shantell got to watch Lennon. Thanks again Shan... You saved me.

Fathers Day 2009

Well Fathers Day has come and gone but I really wanted to do this anyway. I don't think I tell these three fathers in my life how much I appreciate them.

BOBERT...what a great guy, where do I even begin. I am so lucky to have such an amazing father-in-law. I always tell B how much I love this man. He really is amazing. From day one I knew we would get a long. He has always made me feel so comfortable and right at home. He is hilarious. We are usually on the same page as far as humor goes. If you ever need a good laugh, just go visit Bob for a while. On top of humor, he is a spiritual giant. He is so wise. He has been such a great example to his family. He loves his family and especially his wife. I love watching those two. He has such an amazing work ethic. He is such a hard worker. B and I are so lucky to have him in our lives.

Bry-Guy, big guy bud... what can I say, this guy is the BEST! I am so lucky I can call him my dad. He honestly is the greatest. He has blessed my family so much and has been so involved in our lives. He is always there, no matter how late, no matter how far away, dad is always around and ready to help. He is probably the hardest working guy I know. For the past 4 or 5 years I have had the privilege of working with this guy. Let me tell you, it has been the most rewarding 4 or 5 years. I am not kidding. I have learned so much from him. He is amazing with people. People love to be around him. He is a people magnet. He is hilarious. He is the most generous person I know and the coolest thing about him is that I don't even know that half of it. He is very humble and not at all self-centered. He is the most selfless person I know. He loves his kids more than anything. He is the greatest example of a parent. He loves so unconditionally. When I am around him I sometimes forget he is my dad. I am just as comfortable around him as I am around my best buddies. He is so wise. He always has the greatest advice. I love talking to him for that reason. He is a spiritual giant. He loves the gospel and isn't afraid of sharing it with anyone. I admire that. He can make any sticky situation, un-sticky, he is the best of the best. I love my dad. B and I are so lucky to have you bud. My life would never be complete without you.

B, Beezer, B-sus... man o man. I am one lucky girl right? B and I dated for quite some time before we tied the knot. It was a crazy three and a half. You all probably know, between three breakups, no one probably thought it would ever work out... BUT you were WRONG!! ha. I remember the night that B purposed. I remember thinking on my drive to my man on one knee, that this is really who I was going to marry! That B was going to be the father of my children. You always know you are going to get married and eventually have kids, but you don't know who you are going to share that with. I remember being so stoked that B was going to be the one I was going to call my husband and the one my kids were going to call dad.

So now it has been three and a half years and one Lennon later and we are still going strong. This past year has been honestly one of the greatest. Watching B become a dad has been so unreal. I remember when I found out I was pregnant I was alone in the Smiths bathroom stall :). Ha, figures right? I remember walking out of the grocery store, probably talking to myself, wondering, how is B going to react? I got in my car and went to work, no emotion, just shocked. After work, I grabbed an envelope and made it look like a letter for B, and stuck the pregnancy test in it and wrote, I am PREGNANT! I came inside and kind of hid it in a stack of mail and pulled it out and casually handed it to B. I was afraid. I didn't know what he was going to do or say. He opened it and read what I had wrote. Seconds later he jumped out of the chair screaming, "YES!!, FOR REAL?!" I was shocked. He was stoked. It has never changed.

When Lennon was born, I remember looking at B and knowing it was love at first sight. He was so tender. He still is. B loves his little man. Lennon loves his dad. He really is a daddies boy. I think it is great. Watching B play with that guy really does make my day. He laughs just as hard with him as he does with any of his good friends. He really enjoys it. He is so proud of that guy. He is the best dad. He is such a great example to me, and I know Lennon will learn a lot from him too. He is truly my best friend. I am glad that we can laugh like we did when we dated. There is never a dull moment in our house. I am so happy we are together forever. Lennon, B and I.

B, happy happy first fathers day. We love you.
